ECOLOGY:
Drought Portends Mosquito Misery

SAVANNAH, GEORGIA--A study reported here on 5 August at the meeting of the Ecological Society of America found that because dry weather knocks out key mosquito predators and competitors, last year's drought--not this year's rainfall--may best predict mosquito outbreaks in wetlands.
