CLINICAL TRIALS:
Ventilator Study Gets Second Wind

The Office for Human Research Protections last week concluded that a controversial study involving patients with serious respiratory problems has not needlessly endangered subjects. Researchers may be able to restart a suspended portion of the trial if they improve patient consent practices and provide more information to review boards.
