Lenfant to Retire From Heart Institute

An enduring figure in U.S. biomedical research, Claude Lenfant, director of the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute (NHLBI), announced last week that he plans to retire this summer. Lenfant will step down on 30 August after 21 years as NHLBI director, its longest-serving chief.
