Fishing Out a New Heart

Approaches to repairing damaged heart tissue have focused on the promise of multipotential stem cells. However, repairing damaged tissue through regeneration--a strategy adopted by animals such as the newt--may also prove beneficial. In their Perspective, Scott and Stainier discuss new work (Poss et al.) that reveals the regenerative capacity of the injured zebrafish heart.
