Bid to Save Kamchatka's Wildlife

PETROPAVLOVSK-KAMCHATSKIY, RUSSIA--The besieged Kamchatka peninsula, which has been a haven for thousands of rare animals and plants, has found a new protector. A group of international and Russian agencies earlier this week announced a 7-year project to bolster biodiversity conservation and research in four protected areas, with funding of almost $13 million.
