CELL BIOLOGY:
A Last GASP for GPCRs?

John A. Gray and Bryan L. Roth

Once activated by their ligands, many G-protein-coupled receptors (GPCRs) are internalized into endocytic compartments within the cell. Here, they are sorted to either a recycling or a degradative pathway. In their Perspective, Gray and Roth discuss new work (Whistler et al.) that identifies a protein called GASP that is important for the lysosomal targeting of certain GPCRs.
