MARIB, YEMEN--In the aftermath of the 11 September terrorist attacks, many field projects involving Western researchers have been put on hold, even in a moderate Arab nation like Yemen that has aligned itself with the U.S.-led coalition. That is why researchers from the United States and other countries who were supposed to have come to Marib this month remain thousands of kilometers away.
