Driving a Stake Into Resurgent TB

Eighty years after the first tuberculosis vaccine was developed from a bovine cousin of Mycobacterium tuberculosis, the bacterium that causes the disease, its efficacy has come into question. Health leaders have been saying they need a new vaccine; now a fascinating conjunction of events has led to trials of at least five new TB vaccines. But who will pay for them?
