POSTDOC ACTIVISM:
What Postdocs Want--and How

In October 1998, postdocs from nine universities, research institutes, and national laboratories met in Palm Springs, California, at the annual conference of the Group on Graduate Research, Education, and Training, a subgroup of the Association of American Medical Colleges that includes faculty and deans from major North American medical schools. The meeting, informally dubbed the "postdoc summit," produced a list of recommendations that postdocs are pushing for nationwide.
