CHEMISTRY:
Toward Benign Ends
A review by Walter Leitner
Green chemistry aims to reduce or eliminate "the use or generation of hazardous substances in the design, manufacture, and application of chemical products." These two volumes offer a succinct introduction to the field and highlight a wide range of current activities within it, including research on catalysis, solvents, and supercritical fluids.
