INDIA BUDGET:
Big Increase Seen as Answer to Sanctions

Indian researchers are applauding a new budget that hands science its largest increase of the decade. The 20% hike for civilian and defense sectors is also seen as a shot in the arm for domestic efforts to overcome foreign sanctions imposed in the wake of last spring's nuclear tests.
