Enhanced: A Tale of Two Cities

Quantum teleportation is a process in which information about a quantum state of an object (rather than the object itself) is transported from one location to another. In his Perspective, Caves discusses results published in the same issue by Furusawa et al. in which the quantum state of a light beam was successfully transported from one place to another. Such experiments are the beginning of information processing capabilities completely unavailable in the non-quantum world.
