Can Regulations Requiring Labeling of Genetically Modified Foods Work?

Public pressure to label food containing genetically modified ingredients, as well as impending labeling legislation from the European Union, has sent retailers and food manufacturers scrambling to find ways to determine whether the products they sell contain such ingredients. But critics question whether a meaningful labeling system can be achieved.
