Taking the Eco-Pulse of a Giant

With construction of the Three Gorges Dam a reality, scientists have joined together to monitor the project's impact on ecology and environment. Their efforts include attempts to preserve endangered flora and fauna and to mitigate the negative effects on some 1.2 million people who are being relocated.
