WOMEN'S HEALTH RESEARCH:
A 5-Year Initiative Slowly Takes Shape

Last week, a huge planning session was held on women's health as part of an effort sponsored by the National Institutes of Health to draft a 5-year agenda for the field. Research is now focusing less on anatomy and the reproductive system and more on gender-based differences at the cellular and molecular level, a shift in emphasis that could broaden support for women's health research.
