New Experiments Step Up Hunt for Neutrino Mass

TOKYO--The answer to whether a neutrino has mass, a key question in assessing the validity of the Standard Model of the composition of matter, could come from a new wave of underground experimental facilities that are exploring a rare phenomenon in which neutrinos are not even produced, let alone detected.
