Policy Forums

Shirley M. Malcom

Affirmative action has emerged as a center-stage issue in higher education. This policy forum reviews the history of affirmative action, its impact on science and engineering, and the status of the groups affected by affirmative action policies. Structural changes are suggested that may lead to widespread adoption of practices that support diversity and inclusion in science and engineering.
