Now that astronomers searching for planets around other stars have detected Jupiter-sized objects, another goal beckons: finding planets more like Earth. NASA Administrator Daniel Goldin is an enthusiast, and a panel of leading astronomers has just endorsed a "road map" for the search. Ultimately, it would require placing an array of infrared telescopes in an orbit beyond Mars.
