2005 Grand Prize Winner

The 2005 Eppendorf and Science prize for Neurobiology was awarded to Pingxi Xu, a postdoctoral fellow at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center. In his prize-winning essay "A Drosophila OBP Required for Pheromone Signaling," Xu describes work that gives new insights into the molecular mechanism behind insects’ behavioral responses to pheromones. Manipulating these responses might provide new methods of pest control. Justin Blau, Paul Frankland, and Johanna Montgomery were finalists, and their essays are available at Science Online.
