COLD SPRING HARBOR, NEW YORK--At the Biology of Genomes meeting here, 11 to 15 May, researchers described how they analyzed DNA sequence data from living placental mammals, including humans, dogs, mice, and rats, to trace the ancient evolution of individual bases in those animals.
