Battling SARS on the Frontlines

HONG KONG--This city, with its population of 6.7 million, has so far borne the brunt of the severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS) epidemic. Last weekend researchers from Hong Kong, along with colleagues from mainland China and Taiwan, gathered at a symposium here to review progress and assess future challenges. The mood was cautiously optimistic.
