The Study of Superfloods

Victor R. Baker

Evidence for large high-energy floods during the last ice age are accumulating from North America and Asia. In his Perspective, Baker provides a historic account of the study of such superfloods. As in much of geology, observation has preceded theory in this field, and the concept of consilience has prevailed as scientific hypotheses were confirmed through unexpected connnections.
