Where the Grass Never Stops Growing

HARPENDEN, U.K.--An experiment at a 16th century manor house here in the heart of rural England has inspired generations of ecologists. The Park Grass experiment, which analyzes how grassland communities respond to variations in nutrient levels, has been paying scientific dividends since the 19th century and has taught ecologists some unique lessons.
