Creating Copenhagen A Symposium
Presented by the Graduate Center of the City University of New York and the Ensemble Theater/Alfred P. Sloan Foundation Science & Technology Project, 27 March 2000.
Frayn's award-winning play presents multiple and conflicting versions of Heisenberg's 1941 visit to his mentor and colleague Bohr in Nazi-occupied Denmark. The New York opening was accompanied by a symposium which brought together physicists, historians, and the play's creators to discuss the controversies surrounding the historical meeting and Frayn's drama.
