Chemists Mix It Up in California
Robert F. Service
ANAHEIM, CALIFORNIA--Nearly 15,000 scientists gathered here from 21 to 25 March for the American Chemical Society's semiannual research powwow. The week's highlights included an effort to combine tissue engineering with gene therapy, new ways to synthesize polymers, and the welcome news that caffeine doesn't affect the brain like more potent stimulants.
