Two Swiss astronomers believe they have the first evidence for a planet outside our solar system that orbits a sunlike star. They have detected an apparent wobble in a star just outside the Great Square of Pegasus, which may be caused by a planet at least half the size of Jupiter swinging around the star in a tight orbit. The observation has been confirmed by a second group, but it is controversial because conventional theories suggest that planets that large don't form so close to a star.
