Legionnaires' disease: nickel levels
Nickel concentrations in lung tissues of nine deceased Legionnaire victims average nine times that of controls. There is a significant correlation between the nickel levels in the lungs of the Legionnaire victims and the weights of the lung specimens. No similar correlation is evident in the study of the victims' kidney tissues or tissues from the controls.
