Cholesterol Biosynthesis: Mevalonate Synthesis Inhibited by Bile Salts

Certain bile salts inhibit biosynthesis of mevalonate from acetate-2-C14 in normal rat liver homogenates. The physiological control of cholesterol biosynthesis is discussed.
