Many observatories around the world and in space observed the collision of Deep Impact with comet 9P/Tempel 1 on UT 2005 July 4 or its aftermath. This was an unprecedented coordinated observational campaign. These data show that (a) there was new post-impact material compositionally different from that seen pre-impact, (b) the dust-to-gas mass ratio in the ejecta was much larger than pre-impact, (c) the new activity did not last more than a few days, and the comet was indistinguishable from its pre-impact behavior by July 9, and (d) there were interesting transient phenomena that may be correlated with cratering physics.
