Movie S1

Movie s1
Movie showing one trimeric spike of the immature virus at neutral pH. The three prM-E glycoprotein heterodimers, represented by their Ca backbones, are colored red, green and blue. The pr peptides are highlighted in bold. The extended polypeptide chain of the M protein connecting the pr peptide with the M helical, membrane-associated regions are colored black in each heterodimer. The furin cleavage site, marked with a sphere, is hidden inside the spike and, therefore, inaccessible to furin when the virus is in this conformation.
