Between mid-2003 and mid-2004, Science's Jon Cohen and photographer Malcolm Linton have reported extensively on the growth of the AIDS epidemic in Asia, and the responses of the diverse societies of that continent to the challenges presented by HIV. We've gathered together a collection of Linton's images from that project (including many that did not appear in the pages of the magazine), along with Cohen's commentary on "the story behind the story." A selection of these images can also be viewed as an online slide show.
