Response to Comment on "Changes in Tropical Cyclone Number, Duration, and Intensity in a Warming Environment"

Although Chan makes several valid points, his analysis confusesrelationships associated with the long-term variations withthose associated with shorter term variability (interannualand decadal). We present an analysis that clarifies the observationsfrom the western North Pacific.
