Corrections and Clarifications

Figures 1 and 2B (p. 274) of the report "Requirement for the yeast gene LON in intramitochondrial proteolysis and maintenance of respiration" by C. K. Suzuki et al. (8 Apr., p. 273) were printed incorrectly. The areas indicated as shaded in the sequence shown in Fig. 1 were incorrectly blackened, and the background of the gel shown in Fig. 2B was incorrectly photographed. The correct figures are shown below. It should also have been noted that the sequence shown in Fig. 1 has been deposited in the Genome Sequence Databank, the EMBL Data Library, and the DNA Databank of Japan under accession number L28110.
