Experience modifies the plastic properties of identified neurons
Crickets (Acheta domesticus) were reared in the presence of continuously repeating tone pulses. The responses of large abdominal interneurons to similar tone pulses were then compared. The giant interneurons of treated specimens are more resistant to habituation than those of control specimens.
