Hexamethylenetetramine hexahydrate has a three-dimensional framework structure of hydrogen-bonded water molecules. Each hexamethylenetetramine molecule is located in a cavity within this framework but is linked to the water structure by hydrogen-bonds through three of its four nitrogen atoms.
