Genetic Differences among White Leghorn Chicks in Requirements of Arginine

Among three strains of the one breed, and among sire families within each strain, there were highly significant differences in ability of chicks to tolerate a deficiency of arginine at ages up to 4 weeks. One of these strains required about 25 percent more arginine than another for maximum growth to that age.
