Ammonia Excretion by Mammalian Lung
1 Department of Medicine, Harvard Medical School, and Medical Clinics, Peter Bent Brigham Hospital, Boston, Massachusetts

Simultaneous measurement of the physiologic dead space permits the calculation of the partial pressure of ammonia in alveolar air. This finding has implications for ammonium metabolism and transport.
