The European Science Foundation's Network for Computational Neurosciences aims to promote the education of young scientists and this Web site gives details of symposia and workshops on neuroinformatics.

The Institute of Neuroinformatics at the University of Zurich was established in 1995 and has a very useful set of links including lists of European and worldwide centres that are conducting neuroinformatic research.

Computational Neuroscience in Europe is another Web site dedicated to providing information about neuroscience and neuroinformatics in Europe. Click onto 'research groups' to get a list of laboratories carrying out this research.

The U.S. National Institute of Mental Health has provided funding for the Human Brain Project. This is a broad-based initiative that supports research and development of advanced technologies and encourages co-operation and communication between neuroscientists and information scientists. This site is a useful source of information for research currently carried out in the U.S.
