Robert Coontz

Robert has been deputy news editor for physical sciences at Science since 2000. His earlier experience included editorial positions at The Sciences and Earth and freelance writing and editing for New Scientist, American Scientist, The Exploratorium Quarterly, and Muse. He has an undergraduate degree in mathematics from Swarthmore College, a master’s degree in hydrogeology from Stanford University, and a certificate in science communication from the University of California, Santa Cruz. He lives in Alexandria, Virginia
