Evan is the deputy editor of ClimateWire and covers Congress and the insurance industry. He writes about lawmakers' attitudes on climate change and tracks efforts by political groups to promote and stigmatize the science around warming. He has broken news about donors defecting from the Heartland Institute, and he reports extensively about insurers' views on climate-related damage. He writes frequently about floods and the risk of sea-level rise. Before joining E&E in 2008, he covered Congress for newspapers in Massachusetts and Vermont. He has a journalism degree from the University of Wisconsin, Madison, and he's the recipient of an investigative reporting award.
