Every day the news staff of Science and our contributing freelancers bring you breaking research news, news and analysis from the world of science policy, multimedia, and brief articles that point you to the best science stories on the web. Starting July 2017, we will seek to learn more about our audience and their interests by asking frequent readers of free News content to register for access. Metered access will only apply to News from Science content posted on our daily news site. News and Feature articles appearing in the print version of Science and available online on the journal’s website will continue to be available only to AAAS members and Science subscribers.
Upon launch the metered access will affect a growing segment of our readers, starting at 5% and gradually increasing to 100% of our readership by the end of 2017. The planned meters are as follows: Individuals reading more than three News from Science articles over the course of a month will be asked to sign up for our Science Daily News newsletter in order to read more articles that month. When readers who have signed up for the daily newsletter exceed 10 article reads within a month, they will be asked to provide more information about themselves. They will then have unlimited access to news articles that month and future months in 2017.
Please note that by registering with News from Science you will only be added to Science/AAAS internal lists and may receive marketing about membership and subscription offers. Unless readers offer permission to do so, we will not be sharing contact information with our external marketing partners.
AAAS members who sign in will have unhindered access to unlimited News from Science content. Learn more about membership here.
